The system supports discovering installed content or software versions for resources and can support distribution, publishing of new content and can also support feeds from custom remote sources. An example solution is the RPM management solution that supports YUM repositories and exposing the content from them to resources through a channel organization model. These can than be installed by pushing the content through the agent and commanding yum to do the installation from our internally modeled yum repos representation. Installed RPMs are also inventoried with the same subsystem to allow you to see what versions of all software are installed and to compare to version available in subscribed channels. |
